Hard Core Dedicated Campers

Day 13 Tour Guide

What people do to make sure to get a spot at Camp 4.  Yosemite is a busy National Park and all the reserved campsites are full within 15 minutes of open reservation online.  So this is what hard core people do, sleep and camp out at the next morning's wait line.  I've done this before and it's quite miserable, cold, uncomfortable, and foot traffic, including bears.

Getting in line with chairs, food, water, and good company is an experienced camper at Camp 4.

This car was not bear proofed.  There were bear paws all over this car inside and out.  Climbers came in late last night, tired and thought they packed everything scented out and realized after this incident, they forgot about an apple in their gear pack from a full day of climbing.  As if paying for new windows and doors were not enough, you get cited by the park and pay a fine for negligence and endangerment of humans and bears, ouch!  Not the best way to wake up after an awesome few days of climbing and camping in world famous national park.

I spent the day people watching and strolling around the trails, mapping out a tour route and activities in anticipation for the extended family's arrival tomorrow.

It is very cold at night and in the upper 90's during the day.  My body is having a bit of hard time acclimating to all of this.
