Triple Digits

It must have hit triple digits today, at least it felt like it. I went with my sister Helen and her 3 adorable kids to the school's fundraiser BBQ night. Rocky stayed home. I love the kids! Then we dropped off the kids at her house and took off to hang out in a place with A/C. We ended up going to check out a 3 week old Korean place. This place sold only 4 things, all noodles. It was packed and the noodles looked good. The kimchi was good too. We ended up drinking a lot of ice water. I guess this place is also known for noodle refills. But we were stuffed and we were hot from the spicy sauce. We went to cool off, which we did but we ended up burning longer from the spicy sauce.

Well, the plan worked and didn't work.
We wanted to hang out and we did.
We wanted to munch, which we did.
We wanted to cool off, which we did.
We wanted to eat good food, which we did.
We hadn't planned to be stuffed, which we ended up doing.
We hadn't planned to replace one heat for another, which we ended up doing.
It was all worth it.

Indian Rice

I really just wanted Indian rice for lunch but ended up with all this goodies. It was a delicious lunch, I think I have been hungry for 2 months. I fell asleep last night at 5pm on the floor and woke up 8:30am on the floor, glad it was a warm night otherwise I might have woken up with a cold. I do feel rested.

David's Birthday

David's birthday, wouldn't miss it. We went to Ethiopian place for dinner and had two order of combo plate. We were so stuffed.

Then we had to go find a 24 hour place and chose Denny's to hang out. He ordered refill hot coco. I had tea. I was unsuccessful in getting his mustache on camera, he's quick in licking it off after he sips.

I made dark chocolate cake with roasted chestnut spread topped with blueberries and cherries. I had to find candles with pink hearts for him. I thought it went well with the chocolate cake.

We chatted and chatted and chatted. It's amazing how we can just keep talking or stay silent and there would not be any awkwardness.

Happy Birthday- David, the Great! You are a priceless friend!

We stayed at the restaurant till it closed.

SF Opera

Last act for the Stern Grove summer performance season. I made it back to the house at 6am, cooked rice, jumped into the shower, rolled sushi, made hot tea and drove out to Stern Grove and parked myself at a good spot. It was a little after 8am. I thought maybe I can snooze a bit since the show won't start for another 6 hours. Robert, was actually at the park too. He baked this bread himself till 2am. It was beautiful and delicious.

Amber's mom doing her own new age Deity art work.

Fun t-shirts Robert likes to collect.

This is Amber who is holding a heart shaped chocolate chip walnut cookie. I later found out she's allergic to nuts. Oopse! Yup the same cookie meant for Naji's road trip to AS
U that didn't make it to him and I mailed to him via USPS that also got mailed back to. What a journey these cookies have gone through. On the day he left, I set my alarm clock to wake up in time to say good bye and hand him cookies for his long drive, but I didn't check my alarm was low on battery and so it was slow on time, very slow. So I was sad to have missed our good bye parting and decided to mail the cookies well packed in foam to cushion it from the shipping. Well, it was pretty well packed and it came back good too. So I brought the box of cookies and shared it with neighbors.

A mom who brought face painting kit to paint faces on the kids. It was a good idea and she did a good job on the kids.

This man is getting escorted out of the park for civil unrest. I think he was a bit drunk. He stepped onto the rock in between songs and began to proclaim and over throw of the Obama government.

Ethyl who is a stylist did my hair while Robert was assigned the comb holder, a very import post indeed.

Diane who I see at the performances always dressed beautifully and with her needles and yarn in hand. We some how like similar spots and are some how usually neighbors.

Opera, makes me cry. But today, I didn't, which is a nice thing, crying in public isn't a good thing. I'm not one of those pretty cryers, I sob like there's no tomorrow, totally ugly and loud.

Robert made me an origami humming bird and lily off his memory. It was pretty cool.

A wonderful day, no sleep and I had to push myself to stay awake for ABDC and watch last week's Beyonce challenge that I missed and stay awake for this week's Martial Art Challenge. Still worth it. I can sleep next week.

Welcome Back Tea Party

It was so nice of Darius and Yadola to open the tea shop on after hours to pour us some hot tea for the after camping party. It was a nice way to get off the road after driving for 12 hours.

Party ended after two hours, David and I continued the party ourselves with our own stash of hot water and tea till 5am Sunday trying to catch up on the past 2 months. I don't think we had enough time, we barely got started.

Water Melon Splitting Palm

Day 7
Time to pack and hit the road. One last glimps of this beautiful place.

The sky above my tent.

The trees through my window.

Passing by the Redwood Forest National Park is just so beautiful.

Sher who got up at 6am to pack, so did I but somehow she was done in a flash. I was done too, but I waited for a truck to hull all my stuff down to the car, miscommunication so I waited like an hour.

We had a water melon for lunch but no knife. I pulled out my swiss army knife for Laura to split the water melon. Maybe with all the Shaolin Kungfu she's doing, next year she can do the splitting water melon move without the knife and with her palm.

Bags Under Eyes

Day 6
We ate out of the organic garden.
Lettuce was delicious.

Cabbage was very sweet. Jin Rou Shr added some tumeric to the cabbage and it was delicious.

Kale was so healthy.

Preparing dinner and tomorrow's togo lunch box for the road trip back home.

Watch out for women who can chop with two knives at once.

Henry singing with a blade of grass.

One last truck ride up the hill to close off this trip.

Tiger and Andy after dinner.
Darius and Dian Dian, sitting like martial artists.

Thomas who travels all the way from Chile Santiago each year for this. Now Fedda all the way from Holland, maybe he'll make it an annual thing too.

Little Andy who is often excited to show off his new invention on the fast pact, moving truck, it often involved stick that can easily poke your eyes out.

Silver, until next year, hang in there, you are the mountain and the trees, wouldn't be the same without you.

The nun's tents, underneath a forest of trees.

Sooooo tired. Where are all the moms this year and all the kids! This is giving me bags under my eyes.
