Amanda was like 9 or 10 when she insisted on joining the DRBY. I think she is the official first DRBY baby. Now she's off to college, I think we can still find ways to recruit her.
She was too young to do the retreats and activities but she insisted on participating and insisted to show us she was having fun and she was and we did too with her. I remember she would bring her stuff animal to dorm and sleep with us. She was pretty hard core for a little kid. Getting up at 3:45am to start the day and just kept up with every body year after year. That is pretty amazing.
Other things we did together that was fun, she was my apple juice squeezer assistant. We both like fresh juice and didn't mind the work involved. Fresh apple juice is really good.
We would also run to the theater and grab food in Rubios or Pasta Pomodoro then catch a movie at the AMC.
Our first Karma Kitchen pay it forward dinner. We would take turns weekly to treat each other dinner. Then we took a pause because we both came across tight budget issues or the lack of. But we still love Nepalese momos with spicy dipping sauce.
Well lots of memories unrecorded and lots more memories to create in the future.
