Children's Art

Went to visit the Kimuras, hugged the kids.  They are so sweet, just love them.  Lena drew me a picture of what she saw of us.  It’s perfect.  Children’s drawings are the best, they are honest and great at illustrating everything they see, exactly to what is going on at the moment.

Watercolor Fun

Working on two water color projects at once, while I wait for a layer to dry, I can work on the other piece.  I love doing artwork.  I like the focus and concentration.

Boots require patience.  I have been breaking into these snow boots for months now.  I could not feel my toes all these months, today was the first day I can wiggle my toes.  I like these boots now.  I am looking forward to wearing them in the snow.

Rain, Tea, Paint Brush

The past month has been a month of rain and rain and more rain. Aside from driving hazards, I love the sound and smell of rain. I love to just sit by my window, listen to the sound of rain with a hot cup of High Mountain Tea in one hand and a paint brush in another.

I have been teaching myself how to draw and water color orchids. It has been a lot of fun. Days go by fast, there just doesn't seem to be enough time to use when I am working on art projects.

Dreams, Kishimoto Style

My dreams this morning was all in Kishimoto Manga Style. Kishimoto is the creator of Uzumaki Naruto. All the main characters were in my dreams. All in black ink and Copic Marker tones. I don't recall what the storyline was. I love Naruto series. Kishimoto is also the same age as I am. Naruto has been going on for a least a decade. It is coming to a completion, it will have an end and I will be sad about that. But like Calvin and Hobbs, I could read it over and over again because the lines, the shading, the styles of expression are worth looking at over and over again.

Back to Acrylic Painting

I enjoy the feel of spreading quality acrylic paint on, feels like spreading melted chocolate.

I used to work on art projects and wouldn't care to sleep or eat or do anything else until I was done. I had to stop because I still had to function as a person who had lives beyond art. I enjoy the focus, concentration, single mind, exploration, discovery, wonder, and perfecting something. There is no way to go wrong, no one to please, no one to answer to, just for me.

Manga or Animated Series Book or the movies

I think I am classically traditional when it comes to stuff like this. I really like the feel of the pages and the black ink lines on the pages of manga over the animated series off crunchyroll.com. I just like it in my hands and to look at the manga style frames and images and lines. I like the manga fish eye perspectives too. I think I feel more of a connection with the author and the illustration artists. Been following Shamen King, Naruto, XXX Holic series. Even the print manga version posted online onemanga.com isn't as statisfying as the actual pages in my hands.
